For my artists solve problems project, as I previously talked about in my last blog post, Sarah and I created an "A" on the stairs using chalk and perspective. Our self inflicted problem was that we had to make all the lines of the A line up at a certain point at the bottom of the stairs. We spent a few days lining up all the tape and coloring It in. Obstacles we encountered included the tape being taken off without us finishing the coloring in (which meant re-lining the tape back up), not being able to use paint (which was much more permanent and effective), and having to get permission for the entire project.
The artistic behavior I used most during this project was artists develop art making skills. first of all, I had to learn how to blend the chalk well to make it look smooth. This only took a couple tries until we figured out that all we had to do was blend it with our fingers. Also, I had to use perspective, which can be hard at times, to line up the lines on the A and make sure that all of it will still look proportional when we coloring in the outlines. I gained a lot of new skills with both of these art skills.
